Community Involvement

We believe that it is important that children understand the importance of the community which extends past the learning environment. As a result, we place a heavy emphasis on activities that allow children to connect with the local community, allowing children to develop an understanding of how society works and the need to contribute back to the community. Here are some of the activities that we have been involved in recently:

  • The Narragunnawalli program to develop connections with the local Aboriginal community, allowing children to recognise the traditional owners of the land and their unique values and culture.
  • Fundraising for charity organisations such as the Cancer CouncilĀ and Barnados to highlight the importance of assisting the disadvantaged
  • Visits to the centres from organisations such as the fire department, the police force, and nurses
  • Excursions within the local community such as the library and nursing homes
