Age Under 2

The infant classroom accommodates non-mobile and crawling infants in a peaceful environment.  The environment includes developmentally appropriate furniture and materials. Safety is paramount and any equipment that limits a child’s freedom of movement is avoided.  We believe that children in this age group are always busy learning from their surroundings and absorbing what is around them.  Structured language activities and activities to promote independence and continued development of movement are a feature of the environment.

We also individualize the experiences based on each child’s needs and interests.  Routine is implemented in accordance with the individual’s needs.

Activities in this group include: stories, songs, dance, sensorial, practical life, floor based exercise, counting, sorting, outdoor play, art and craft, etc.
